A Day in the Job

A normal day for a nursery worker is filled with quite a lot. Workers may till soil, apply fertilizers, and prepare planting beds to provide ideal growth conditions for seedlings. They also perform more delicate tasks, such as transplanting, weeding, thinning, and pruning young trees to promote healthy development. Pest control is another important part of the job: nursery workers apply pesticides when necessary to protect seedlings, ensuring the nursery stock remains healthy. Once plants are mature enough or ready for sale or reforestation, workers are responsible for cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, and loading the harvested products.
