Green Construction Specialist
Green construction is infrastructure that is created with processes that are “environmentally responsible”, which means all resources are used efficiently and with minimal waste, which will last as long as the infrastructure does. Green construction is meant to complement aspects of regular construction (like comfort, economy, durability, and utility), while also performing as a highly environmentally sustainable and efficient piece of construction.
A Day in the Job
In some positions, days start early in the morning so that as much work as possible can get done before the heat of the day. Other positions may follow a more traditional 8am - 5pm work day at the construction site. Weekend hours are also not uncommon in this job.
On most days you will
Review blueprints and conduct site walkthroughs
Source materials with low environmental impact
Design and install energy and water efficient systems
Work with architects and clients to meet specific eco-certification standards
