Since 2016, the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) has recognized young leaders making a difference through environmental education. The 2022 awardees range in age from 15 to 30, and include social entrepreneurs, artists, journalists, researchers, activists, and educators from 19 countries. From teaching ecological citizenship in the Philippines to fostering ocean stewardship with virtual reality in the United States to creating student-run kitchen gardens in Kenya, their collective work reaches more than 360,000 people each year. These exceptional young leaders will join the global EE 30 Under 30 community of transformative leaders, expanding their impact and inspiring and mentoring the next generation of sustainability leaders with their unique and passionate commitment to meaningful change.
