TEENS, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Nederland, Colorado, dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering youth and their families to make healthy choices and thrive. One of our impactful programs, Lincoln Hills TeamWorks (referred to as TeamWorks), is a youth education-based employment initiative designed to connect young individuals with nature and community. TeamWorks brings together a diverse group of youth from both rural and urban areas to collaborate on projects alongside public land managers and non-profit organizations. Work Examples
The Crew Member will be responsible for the following:
- Complete various on-the-ground conservation projects, including but not limited to trail building and maintenance, invasive species removal, watershed restoration, fire mitigation, and urban farming.
- Arrive on time and prepared each day with proper clothing, protective gear, water, and food.
- Participate in all work-related activities, including morning stretch circles, lessons, tool sharpening, and end-of-day debriefs with the crew.
- Attend one paid education day during the season.
- Exhibit strong work ethic and collaborate effectively with the entire crew, including Crew Leaders and Junior Crew Leaders.
- Model the core values of TeamWorks throughout the program, such as healthy risk-taking, professionalism, inclusion, collaboration, leadership, and environmental stewardship.
- Participate in a four-day, three-night campout with the crew, assisting with daily chores and cooking during the campout.
- Follow all rules and regulations outlined in the work contract, and respect crew agreements.
- Complete all required HR paperwork, feedback forms, and self-evaluations thoroughly and on time.
- Maintain proper self-care throughout the season, including hydration, food, and sunscreen.
- Ensure responsible and safe tool use, including carrying and storing tools properly throughout the workday.
- Fill out a timecard at the end of each workday.
